De retour!/ Back Again!
Bonjour tout le monde, G day!
Et oui, apres un break internet de quelques mois nous sommes de retour en ligne avec plein de choses a raconter.
Mais pour commencer, on vous présente Darrah

c'est une petite ouvriere Franco australienne qu'on emploi à pas cher et qui fait un boulot fantastique dans la maison. Elle est arrivée le 11 janvier et franchement, on se demande comment on ferait sans elle.
*She s a little austral-franco builder we found for pittence in the Yellow Pages and she does a fantastic job around the house. She arrived at our door step the 11th January and, franky, we don t know how we ever survived without her...
Donc nous voila a 3 dans la petite maison comme prévu. Tous ces week end passés sur cette petit maison ont donné leurs fruits. Nous sommes ravis de voir que nous vivons tres bien dans cet espace réduit. En fait, on se demande meme si on a besoin de plus que ça.
*So the three of us are now living very comfortably in the cottage - thanks to the endless weekends spent here to get the plumbing and electricity in. We re starting to actually ask ourselves if we even need more than 30m² in life...
Mais bon, le plan de départ c'etait de retaper la vielle maison. Donc on va continuer.
Vous vous souvenez a quoi elle ressemblait quand on l'a acheté? Pas mal hein? Toutes ces jolies ronces, et ce beau lierre.
*But we should stick to the plan of renovating the main house. Never back down from a challenge! Especially one that looks like THIS! Well, looked.....
Et bien entre temps il y a eu un peu de boulot de fait. On n'était pas tout seul je vous rassure. Gavin, le pere de Shane, ainsi que Cullum, m'on filé un coup de main a enlever l'apenti d gauche. Si si, il y a un apenti a gauche de cette maison, sous le lierre. La preuve.
*There s been some activity at Reundrez since the beginning of the year. During a week of drizzle and overseas visits we got most of the stone manger down from the west wall of the house. First the octapus ivy, then the stones, with a big hand from Gav, Cullum, Alanna and Gabrielle. thanks!
Donc cette premiere partie étant faite, il a fallu s'attaquer au toit. Voici Marco et Cyril en action:
*Next step was to get the slate off the roof without breaking it. Here s Marco and Cyril in action:
C'est un sacré boulot d'enlever des vieilles ardoises de montagne, mais nous y sommes parvenu en une journée bien pleine. Merci les gars!!!
*The slates were divided into new, thin slates up the top of the roof, and "mountain" slates down the bottom, some of which weighed between 50-80kg.

Lorsque les ardoises avaient disparu, nous nous sommes attaqué au reste.
Voici une petite séquence.... émotions:
*(You may recall a very similar photo from october last year, minus Cyril and plus a lot more ivy!) Once the slate was off, there was nothing for it but to attack the rest. Here s a nice sequence of photos;
Donc voila plusieurs mois résumés en quelques lignes. Rome ne s'est pas fait en un jour, mais Reundrez ne se refera pas non plus en un jour, ni une semaine, ni un mois ni un an....
*That s the last 6 months in a nutshell. Rome wasn t made in a day, and Reundrez is set to follow suit..!
Bon quelques photos en vrac, du plancher de la maison que nous avons enlevé, du mushroom shed ( grange champignon) qui n'a plus de lierre dessus, et enfin du pignon ouest que nous avons commencé à enlever ce soir jusqu'a minuit, sous la lune pleine et les étoiles :)

*A few odd photos to finish off with; Fabrice taking off the last off the ivy from the Mushroom Shed (which is now protected by a huge black tarp), the inside of the house with the flooring gone, and the west gable which we started to take down together late at night (Darrah asleep in bed), working until midnight by the light of the moon and stars : ))
