Consensuel * Consensuel - Semaine/Week 9 (14/10/06)
Bon, ce week end n'a pas été des plus fatiguant a Hanvec, mais par contre l'avancée a été significative. Vendredi, je me suis transformé en inspecteur des travaux finis. En gros j'étais la pendant que deux gars d'une société sous traitante d'EDF (c'est la grande mode la sous traitance) nous installaient le compteur et le disjoncteur. Je dois dire qu'ils étaient tres sympa ces deux la, et j'ai même eu droit a un controle de la qualité de la terre pour la prise de terre future.
*We can't say that this was the most productive of weekends at Hanvec, but it was an important one nonetheless. Fabrice was on site friday afternoon to inspect the progress of two electricity workers (sub-contracted by 'France Electricity' ) as they installed the power box and switch box in the cottage (see photo below). They were very helpful and even gave a free quality control of the future 'earth' connection.
La grande nouvelle c'est qu'on a le compteur et le disjoncteur mais aussi le jus! Et oui, pas besoin de consuel!!! Et ça c'est la tres bonne nouvelle de la semaine parce que ça veut dire un gain d'argent et de temps. Attention on va tout de même faire attention a ce qu'on fait.
Le samedi ça a été pause bébé puisqu'on s'est occupé d'aller faire les magasins pour le futur membre de la famille :)
* Saturday was baby-day!, with some shopping for the future member of the family. (Not to mention me, who was down to my last pair of pants stretchy enough to accomodate my big belly :)
Dimanche, nous avons pris rendez vous avec notre futur terrasseur. Journée riche en informations puisque nous avons été rendre visite a nos deux voisins et que nous allons pouvoir étaller la terre en surplus sur le champ du voisin. Pas besoin de transporter cette terre ailleurs, ce qui coute tres cher. Nous avons demandé au voisin s'il pouvait passer avec son tracteur sur le haut de la propriété pour préparer le futur potagé de shane et il a accepté. Sympa! J'en profite pour lui réparer son ordi qui doit etre infecté d'un virus quelconque.
*Sunday, we were up bright and early for a rendezvous with our sewrage guy - Mr Soubigou. (Or Mr Scoobidooo, as I've nicknamed him). He was very cheerful for someone talking to clients at 9am on a sunday morning, and explained to us that he was just happy to have got out of going to the church with his wife!! He'd been talking with our farmer neighbours and organised that the excess dirt from our drainage trench can be sprinkled over their adjoining field. No more 2m-high piles of dirt on our property with no-where to go!! We went to have a chat with the neighbours too, and were warmly welcomed as usual. We've also negotiated a deal with them whereby they plough the top part of our land (in preparation for next years vege patches!) and in return fabrice will try to de-virus their old computer.
Le dimanche apres-midi, j'étais du coté de roscoff pour nous trouver notre future locataire a cornes! J'ai trouvé cette race de chevres du poitevin tres jolie, mais shane aura surement le dernier mot sur le choix de notre futur biquette.*Sunday afternoon Fabrice came across some adorable Poitevin goats which may just be the race that we choose for our future grass-munching companions.
Donc nous voila par le fait d'un coup de chance phénoménal, un mois et demi en gros en avance. Nous allons déposer notre préavis pour recouvrance aujourd'hui et esperons pouvoir enménnager en décembre.
Samedi prochain c'est élec avec Alain et tonton Jean-Alain!
*So there you go for our important weekend. With perhaps a month and a half gained thanks to the lack of 'consuel' requirements we'll give our notice for the flat in brest this week and will aim at moving house in December.
*Next Saturday it's electricity with Uncle Jean-Alain and Alain!
